Venice has accumulated many myths. If you've not yet been there, these points may interest you:

• In Venice proper (including Cannaregio), you can escape the tyranny of the car: there is none (no scooters or bicycles, either).

• There is a magic to Venice at any time of year: even in fog and mist, a trip down the Grand Canal, or across the lagoon, is filled with fascination.

• Quite apart from all this, Venice's permanent treasures invite a lifetime's exploration: palaces, churches, art collections, and the streets and canals themselves. At every street corner there is a new detail to enjoy.

• Venice does get crowded with tourists - but most of them stick to a few well-worn routes, and it is easy to find a silent street only disturbed by a haughty cat washing itself ...

• The Rialto fish market, with the accompanying fruit and vegetable markets, is a foodie paradise.

Venice has accumulated many myths. If you've not yet been there, these points may interest you:

• It is one of the few places in the world to which the word 'unique' can truly be applied: a city in the middle of the sea.

• Venice is no longer sinking. The artesian wells that caused so much damage in the last century were stopped; the islands are level. Now, however, global warming is the challenge.

• The canals are no anachronism. They are the veins through which the city's lifeblood flows: every service, from the dustmen to the fire brigade, must use a boat.

• Twentieth-century buildings are a rarity. Centuries of outstanding architecture, from the thirteenth to the nineteenth, are preserved in (sometimes slightly peeling) grandeur.

i like all in venice for it is unique :)
the most important feature is, it is surrounded with sea and you can only go somewhere by walk or by vaporetto, no other possibility to use a car :) you can lose yoru way easily, ok. no matter finally you will reach only to sea at the end of the street, and it is more lovely to lose your way, then you can better understand Venice what it looks like, ok. if you live in Venice, you will never be sick :), when you are in Cafe Florian, since 1720 it is in service, you will pay 9.- euros for a hot chocolate in january 2008, but no matter, the pleasure you will have will worth 1000 times of 9.- euros :) and you can easily go out when the carnaval performane will start in st.marco piazza at 21.00 every night during the carnaval season as 25.january- 05.february.2008 :) and be sure that you will pay 9.-euros for a spagettti with tomato sauce in min. and you will be satisfied with the fulness of your stomach :), murano and burano and probably torcello are the greatest advantages to visit as seaside villages with lovely houses and everything :) there are lots to say, as a conclusion, when you go to Venice, Venice will be very happy and will do her best to make you very happy, too, one day you want to buy a house with garden in Venice, and one day you will buy it:) every climate is suitable for Venice :) in winter, for it is cold, you should wear a coat, then you are more convenient to walk more and more, in summer, just a shirt and short pants will be ok, again you can anjoy more and more for it is summer in Venice :) GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY:)

My husband and I were only here for one night, but we loved this hotel, we had no problems at all. It's incredibly close to the Vaparetto stop, and on a quiet street. The staff was very helpful and breakfast was simple but tasty. If i ever get the chance to come back to Venice, I'll definitely stay here again
