Although man-made, having been built at the end of the 19th Century, the wide and wonderful Panama Canal, overhung with lush jungle growth, today appears more like a natural tropical river to those aboard the thousands of vessels of all sorts which traverse it each year. The Canal cuts through a land bridge joining Northmore and South America. A holiday on the Panama Canal provides the fun of “ship-spotting” from the banks, and some wonderful cruises to explore the waterway’s lakes and locks.

I have stayed at the Country Inn & Suites (Canal) approx 10 different times. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Perfect location by the bridge to head to the beech while still close to the city for the shopping and nightlife. Always someone at the desk that speaks English. Very nice rooms with an unbelievable view at night to see the lighted ships enter the canal. Make sure you get a room with the view of the Canal and Yacht club.
