AVERAGE RATING
The most appealing motive for visiting Greece is the enormous cultural heritage that Greece has, combined with its natural beauties. The Greek landscape, unique globally, with the picturesque settlements of the islands, surrounded by beautiful beaches and the Mediterranean sun, is the reason why millions of visitors choose Greece for their vacation. History will always be in season, therefore visiting Greece and getting to know from first hand the culture and civilization which gave the spark to the rest of the western world, will always be a “must”. Over the years Greece has changed. Being a member of the European union, Greece had to transform and become a modern state following the commands of the 21st century. But these changes have not changed the character of the Greek country, the character of the Greek islands. These have managed to keep their simplicity in architecture and everyday life. The unique landscape, the “easy going” rhythm of life, and the Greek hospitality and simplicity, are still some of the basic elements that make Greece a magical place for vacation. Greece doesn’t lack in luxury and accommodations, as some of the most luxurious hotels and restaurants operate five star facilities in many Greek islands, always in harmony with the nature and architecture of the islands. It does not matter if the visitors are of the cosmopolitan type or the “easy going” one, young seekers or family men, Greece covers all types of visitors and all kinds of budgets. Over a thousand islands and many resorts in the continental land, can satisfy even the most demanding visitors. Rhodes, Santorini, Corfu and Myconos are only a small sample of the many alternatives for visitors who wish for cosmopolitan vacation. Koufonissi, Anafi, Astypalaia, Tilos and Sikinos are some of the alternatives for the seekers of relaxation or for the ones who love coming close to nature and loosing track of time. The continental land of Greece maybe is less famous, but it is also worth visiting. About sixty to seventy per cent of the monuments and historic sites of Greece, lay across the continental land. Rich in flora and sandy beaches, combined with high mountains and traditional settlements, continental Greece is an amazing landscape waiting to be discovered. Peloponnesus, is one of them. Located at the southern continental Greece, with the famous remains of the Mycenae, one of the first civilizations on the Greek land. Beautiful beaches across the whole coastline of Peloponnesus and organized campings and hotels, compose a place perfect for a tour by car or by motorcycle. Macedonia on northern Greece, is another option. A landscape different than every other in Greece, with lakes and rivers across its country, with mount Olympus, the residence of the gods, and Halkidiki the greatest resort of northern Greece, with golden sandy beaches and crystal waters. Greece is well known for its history and its islands. A varied landscape with rock, or sandy beaches and picturesque villages dominating the islands. Rich flora and great mountain sites just above the sea composing the continental land. Extremely rich in archaeological sites, ancient ruins, museums and cultural activities. |
Rhodes

| What an incredible place. Rhodes offers almost any kind of holiday you could want. If you want peace and quiet, you’ll find it on Rhodes. If you want activities and night-life, Rhodes has got it. If you want to explore history and culture, that is there too. The island is clean, the locals are very warm and friendly to tourists. English is spoken everywhere and most signs are in English too. We particularly wanted a holiday that gave us that get-away-from-it-all feel, with a relatively quiet beach on which to do some snorkelling. Nightclubs and discos were definitely out! At the same time we also wanted to see some of Greece’s history, do a bit of exploring and meet some of the locals. Rhodes gave us exactly what we wanted. Rhodes Old Town is a medieval marvel. Its ancient narrow streets are lined with small shops and restaurants that make you feel as if you are in North Africa somewhere. The other main tourist destination is Lindos. It too has narrow winding streets that ultimately lead up to an Acropolis. You can walk up to this, but the five euro donkey ride is definitely worth it. Definitely hire a car or a moped – even if it is only for a day or two. With Seven Springs, Valley of the Butterflies, Kamerios, Prassonissi, Ialyssos, Profitis Ilias, beautiful old churches, many coves and beaches... we ran out of days in which to see everything! |

Better than its Reputation

| Rhodes is a gorgeous island. The people are friendly and the welcome is warm. Faliraki does not deserve its reputation as a sleazy and cheapened resort, leave the party areas, go to the smaller bars and restaurants, and you will see the real side of Faliraki. Try Thomas's bar for genuine welcome and excellent service. Try the Venezia hotel, the owners are grewat, fun loving people. Go to Rhodes town, it is magnificent. Monolithos is breath taking, Lindos is truly beautiful. You will adore Rhodes. |
