AVERAGE RATING
The audacity of the city's rulers is breathtaking. Running out of coastline to build hotels? Build vast artificial islands with 120km (74.5mi) of new beachfront. Need better connections with the world? Build up an award-winning international airline in 15 years. The best time of the year to visit Dubai is between November and April, when the weather is coolest. The rest of the year you're more likely to be running from one air-conditioned environment to the next instead of getting out and exploring. Ramadan, which takes place at a different time each year on the Western calendar, is the Muslim month of fasting and is strictly adhered to throughout the UAE. That means that it's illegal, not to mention rude, to eat, drink or smoke in public from sunrise to sunset at this time. On the 'up' side, hotel rates drop to 50% of their usual cost. |
JBH Awesome Hotel

| Arrived at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in the morning to friendly and helpful staff. Got ot our rooms really quickly with no problems. The hotel was amazing and worth every penny! So much better than the cheap tacky holidays available elsewhere in the world that are not really memorable or worth the time! The JBh was just fantastic with a selection of brilliant restraunts. Carnevale was excellent, and Go West was excellent for a casual but enjoyable dinner. Nothin ever dissapointed me. the pool was brilliant with a mock-rock wall at the deep end with a manamade waterfall. The servicewas out of this world and the rooms were fantastic. The balcony room was worth the extra money - i cant undertand what people mean when they say you cant see the burj. The room was luxuriously furnished. Although it was extremely nice, i thought it could have done with updating - but thats not to say it wasnt very nice! The bathroom was a nice large size with an enormous shower. Finished with marble of course. The laundry and room service were very efficient. The atrium at the JBH was magnificent and from the 25th floor the view down was amazing. In the evenings at the palm court cafe there is a live piano player which is a great place to have drinksd before dinner. Also, the beach lobby area was themed like a seaside cave which was really nice. The golf buggys to mina salam and the burj were really useful and the free entrance to wild wadi was a bonus overall a brilliant holiday. the only bad thing is that once you go to a hotel like this which has all the restraunts and everything you need - no were else is good enough! Anyone who has been will know what i mean |

Burj Al Arab
Reviewed by Jimbob1985 on 23-4-2008 (UK) |
| This place is an absolute gem. I could not believe the outrageously designed building in the shape of a sail and the decor and service more than lived up to its 7 star status. It is a bit on the pricey side but still an absolute must, I highly recommend it. The city on the hole is also fantastic and the sight of the skyscrapers towering over the city is quite overwhelming. he weather is hot but bearable all year round and I have to say I honestly don’t remember seeing a cloud in the sky. For all you beach going folk I recommend the Jumeriah beach development as it is literally a stones throw from the crystal clear sea and the golden sands surely that eould ad that little extra WOW factor to your holiday... book now and enjoy. |

Magnifico

| We stayed at the Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort in February for 3 nights and have never before fell in love with a place as we did here. The holiday from the start was great as we managed to get direct flights with Emirates Airlines who were superb to fly with. to our surprise, on arrival at the hotel we were offered a fre upgrade from a deluxe sea view room to one of the finest suites in the tower block, it included dinner and butler service as well as delicious free wine. The suite was immense with a grand balcony and all the mod cons you could wish for. Top top it all we didn`t even have to pay for the internet access which can cost a fortune. There are 14 restaurants with gorgeous food, loads of bars (we tried as many as possible) and live music. If you don't want to swim in the sea there are three pools in the grounds (also with lifeguards). The hotel has many rooms but there always seems to be a sunbed for anyone. On the whole it was the perfect vacation and we will be staying here again in the near future. |

Ritz Carlton Dubai
Reviewed by Stan on 3-9-2008 (UK) |
| I recently spent a week at the Ritz Carlton on bed and breakfast basis and had a really good experience with lots of positive things to report! Firstly the rooms, all of them overlook the sea and this is a nice aspect about the place as its not ideal overlooking building work when you have paid good money for the room. Inside, the rooms were well kitted out with a plasma screen tv and all mod cons as you'd expect. The location obviously is great as you are right on Jumeirah beach itself. The hotel runs a lovely quaint afternoon tea in the lounge, surroundings throughout the hotel spell luxury and this is a really nice place to come to indulge and see Dubai in style. The grounds are well tended to, there's a nice swimming pool with waterfall, swim up bar and a little river ride which younger kids will enjoy. I'm fairly sure I'd recommend this place to both my mates, both single and the ones with families, as this hotel seems to cater for a wide range of guests all after different holiday experiences. One last mention is for the restaurants, we ate at the Italian on the first night and had a delicious linguine, but perhaps the stand out meal was in the seafood restaurant where the freshly caught prawns were superb. There is also a very good Arabian style restaurant here serving spicy foods as well as more staple ones which are easier on the palate! Great weather accompanied our stay which always helps, but this is an excellent hotel and I'm glad I paid the extra to stay here, as it was well worth it. |
